Job summary

Avnet is seeking an experienced Hardware Engineer in New South Wales to drive design to production for high-speed hardware. You will collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure products meet quality and customer specifications, supporting continuous improvement efforts across the lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include design execution, component selection, supplier quality audits, inspection procedures, and detailed documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of high-speed design requirements.
• Experience with Altium design tools.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS9100.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and PCB layouts.
• Experience with quality tools: SPC, MSA, FMEA, Control Plans.
• Excellent communication across levels.

Responsibilities

• High-speed hardware design from spec discussion to design execution.
• Component selection with stakeholders.
• Supplier quality evaluation and audits.
• Inspection and testing procedures for materials and finished goods.
• Documentation and reporting of quality metrics.
• Oversee manufacturing processes for procedures and optimization.
• Participate in audits including ISO 9001.
• Investigate customer complaints and implement improvements.
• Engage in Lean, Six Sigma, 8D, and SPC for continuous improvement.
