Job summary

NSW Health is seeking a Senior Analyst to lead data development, governance, analysis and evaluation across NSW health systems. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen data quality, improve reporting and generate insights for evidence-informed decision making.

You will contribute to statewide health priorities on complex initiatives, collaborating with cross‑department teams and leveraging advanced analytics to inform policy and service delivery.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and demonstrated experience in data analytics, data management, data governance, performance monitoring and/or program evaluation.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex information and develop practical solutions.
• Demonstrated experience building and maintaining productive relationships with diverse stakeholders in complex environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information to a range of audiences.
• Experience using Power BI, SQL, R, or similar analytical tools will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Analyse, interpret and translate complex data into meaningful insights to support policy, program and service improvement.
• Support the monitoring and evaluation of health programs and services, including the development and refinement of monitoring systems and reporting frameworks.
• Provide advice on data governance, data management processes and state-wide data collections to support accurate and consistent reporting.
• Collaborate with Local Health Districts, non-government organisations and government stakeholders to improve data quality and performance monitoring.
• Prepare high-quality briefs, reports, presentations and project documentation to support strategic decision making.
