Job summary

CPB Contractors is seeking a Senior H&S Manager to lead safety strategy on a landmark data centre project in Melbourne’s western suburbs. You will partner with project leaders, supervisors and subcontractors to shape safety planning, delivery and governance across the full project lifecycle.

The role demands a visible, hands-on leader who can influence decisions, coach leaders, manage risk and champion a positive safety culture, while ensuring compliance and practical outcomes on site.

Qualifications

• Experience in a senior Health & Safety leadership role within large construction projects.
• Ability to influence, coach and build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience improving safety systems, processes and behaviours.
• Strong judgement, pragmatic approach and ability to have challenging conversations.

Responsibilities

• Drive strong safety performance across the project with project leaders and delivery teams.
• Provide practical advice on safety, risk management and project compliance.
• Coach leaders to build safety capability and accountability within their teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and ways of working.
• Lead incident investigations and support meaningful corrective actions.
• Monitor project performance, trends and emerging risks to support better decision-making.
• Support training, communication and engagement initiatives across the project.
• Promote a positive safety culture through visible leadership and stakeholder engagement.
