Job summary

Vinova is partnering with a leading Australian energy infrastructure organisation to recruit a Senior Engineer for the Grid Connections team. The role focuses on advanced power system studies, connection assessments, and stakeholder engagement to integrate renewable energy into Australia's grid.

You will deliver technical assessments for renewable generation, BESS, and data centres, working with a team of engineers on a pipeline of nationally significant projects.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering grid connection, network planning or power systems studies.
• Knowledge of the National Electricity Rules and the connection framework.
• Exposure to PSCAD, PSSE, PowerFactory and/or SINCAL.
• Understanding of system strength, stability, protection and power quality.
• Experience working across renewable energy, transmission, distribution or battery storage projects.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and technical communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct power system and grid connection studies using PSCAD, PSSE, PowerFactory and SINCAL.
• Develop and negotiate Generator Performance Standards (GPS).
• Perform system strength, power quality and stability assessments.
• Support R0, R1 and R2 connection processes.
• Identify network constraints and provide technical recommendations.
• Contribute to process improvement and technical innovation initiatives.
• Mentor and support developing engineers within the wider team.

Vinova is partnering with a leading Australian energy infrastructure organisation to find a Senior Engineer to join its Grid Connections team as renewable generation, battery storage, data centres and large industrial loads continue to accelerate across the market.

This is an opportunity to work on some of the most technically challenging and commercially significant connection projects in the NEM. The role focuses on advanced power system studies, connection assessments, and stakeholder engagement, directly influencing the integration of renewable energy into Australia's grid.

About the Role

As a Senior Engineer, you'll be responsible for delivering technical assessments and network studies for renewable generation, BESS, and data centres.

Working alongside leading engineers and project specialists, you'll help deliver the technical studies and assessments that underpin the successful development of renewable energy, BESS and data centres. This is an opportunity to combine advanced power systems expertise with real project influence, working across a diverse pipeline of nationally significant developments.

Key Responsibilities
