Job summary

Slade Group is seeking an experienced grant maker to lead a grants program for 15 months in Victoria. The role is open to full-time or part-time (3 days per week) applicants and reports to the CEO in a small, collaborative team.

You will build relationships with not-for-profits, assess applications, manage the full grant cycle to acquittal, and write clear board papers. Expect travel to regional Victoria once or twice monthly.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ grant-making experience in a philanthropic foundation or similar.
• Strong networks across Victorian for-purpose and philanthropic sectors.
• Excellent writing skills with the ability to present to a board.
• Proactive and flexible approach suited to a small team.
• A relevant tertiary degree.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with not-for-profits, peer funders and government.
• Assess grant applications, conduct due diligence and manage the full grant cycle to acquittal.
• Write clear, persuasive board papers and contribute ideas at board meetings.
• Track and report on grant outcomes against strategy.
• Travel to regional Victoria once or twice a month, sometimes overnight.
