Job summary

Department of Transport and Main Roads QLD – Brisbane QLD is seeking a Senior Advisor (Governance) to support major infrastructure delivery by coordinating governance, assurance and issues management. You will provide governance advice to project leadership, manage forums and secretariats, and prepare executive materials to support oversight and informed decisions.

You will work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with governance requirements, policies and assurance

Qualifications

Experience in project governance within complex infrastructure, government, or major projects.
Ability to prepare briefing notes, governance papers, executive correspondence and reports for senior stakeholders.
Knowledge of governance frameworks, assurance processes, risk management, and government accountability requirements.

Responsibilities

Coordinate governance forums, agendas, minutes and decision registers to support accountable decision-making.
Provide governance advice, briefing notes, submissions and governance papers for project leadership.
Lead planning and coordination of assurance activities including gateway reviews and audits.
Monitor governance actions, risks, and issues and escalate through governance pathways.
Maintain governance frameworks, registers, and reporting tools for transparency and auditability.
Translate technical and commercial information into concise guidance for decision-makers.
