Job summary

Customer.io is seeking senior backend engineers who focus on reliability, performance, and scalability. You will design, build, and evolve distributed Go systems powering communications at massive scale, collaborating across teams to deliver reliable solutions.

You’ll own problems end to end—from architecture and schema design to testing, deployment, and monitoring—with a bias for action and a willingness to push for forward motion.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience building scalable, distributed systems in Go (or similar statically typed languages).
• Comfort working in cloud-native environments (AWS, GCP).
• Familiarity with relational databases (MySQL) and an understanding of performance tradeoffs.
• Experience with observability tooling and operating production systems.
• A bias for action and ownership of technical decisions.
