Job summary

Northrop Grumman Australia is seeking a Senior Principal Compliance Officer to lead governance across export controls, customs and freight with autonomy. You will advise the Senior Manager Global Trade, shaping compliance frameworks and enabling program success.

The role entails partnering with senior stakeholders, navigating complex regulatory regimes, and driving risk-based improvements in a highly regulated defence environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Law or related field.
• Experience interpreting export-control legislation across multiple jurisdictions.
• Experience managing permits and licenses end-to-end.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain NV1 Australian security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Investigate complex compliance matters and drive corrective actions.
• Strengthen Global Trade policies, procedures, training and assurance frameworks.
• Manage risk assessments, audits and compliance improvement initiatives.
• Navigate export/import authorisations, permits and licences.
• Support supplier export‑control compliance and denied‑party screening.
• Monitor regulatory changes and translate requirements into practical guidance.
• Partner with senior, technical and cross‑functional stakeholders to solve complex challenges.
