Job summary

Sharp & Carter is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to shape our client’s global legal strategy. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will collaborate across jurisdictions to support business goals, manage risk, and ensure compliance in a hybrid Melbourne-based role.

You will lead contract strategy, manage global agreements and data protection, and oversee IP and M&A matters, contributing to high-profile initiatives while thriving in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years PQE in corporate/commercial law
• In-house legal experience essential
• Strong contract negotiation and data protection expertise
• JD or equivalent preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute legal strategies in collaboration with senior management to support objectives and manage risk.
• Oversee contract review, negotiation and renewal globally, coordinating with the GC and regional leads.
• Execute the global data protection strategy and ensure privacy compliance.
• Manage the trademark portfolio and work with external advisors to protect IP rights.
• Participate in Enterprise Risk Committee and support chairing duties.
• Provide legal guidance on mergers and acquisitions and other corporate matters across departments.
