Job summary

Aurec is seeking a GIS Analyst to help quantify carbon sequestration across thousands of hectares in Australia. You will build data frameworks grounded in biomass measurements and act as the bridge between field delivery and GIS technology.

The role focuses on Natural Capital projects using ArcGIS/QGIS and basic Python to analyze vegetation and canopy data, enabling real-world climate and ecosystem solutions.

Qualifications

• You don't need to be an Environmental Scientist, but experience with Natural Capital projects is preferred.
• Experience using geospatial or remote sensing tech to map vegetation, canopy coverage or plant life.

Responsibilities

• Quantify biomass using geospatial data and remote sensing techniques.
• Develop data frameworks to quantify carbon sequestration across large areas.
• Act as GIS subject matter expert and bridge between operational delivery and technical geospatial teams.
