  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $116,981 to $129,492 + super

The role

Join the Planning Evidence Centre and help turn complex spatial data into meaningful insights that support planning and decision-making across NSW. In this role, you'll provide specialist GIS expertise, develop high-quality maps and analytical products, and work with a range of stakeholders to ensure spatial information is accessible, accurate and supports key government priorities.

Working across multiple projects, you'll analyse and visualise spatial data, contribute to innovative mapping solutions and support the ongoing improvement of GIS systems, processes and technologies. You'll collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

What you will bring to the role
  • Strong GIS and spatial analysis experience, with the ability to source, manage, analyse and visualise complex spatial data to support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate technical information into clear maps, reports and insights for a broad range of audiences.
  • Proven project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with experience identifying trends, improving processes and developing practical solutions using spatial information and technology.
  • A collaborative and proactive approach, with a commitment to continuous learning, innovation and delivering excellent customer service.
  • Relevant qualifications in GIS, spatial sciences, data analysis, mapping or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
What is an essential requirement:
  • Tertiary qualifications in one of the following areas: spatial data integration, data analysis and mapping using ArcGIS (or other GIS programs) or other relevant discipline, or equivalent relevant experience with a specialisation in one of these areas.
