Job summary

Bellevue Gold Limited in Western Australia is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to coordinate all mining geotechnical issues at the Bellevue mine, ensuring production targets, safety, cost and environmental standards are met. The role is full-time, based at the Bellevue project near Leinster, on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster, working 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mining/Geological Engineering with geomechanics post graduate qualification.
• 3 years of geotechnical engineering experience in mining environment.
• 2 years in underground hard rock mining; Schedule 26 Supervisory Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate mining geotechnical issues to meet budgeted production.
• Ensure safety, cost and environmental standards.
• Monitor, QA/QC and data collection related to geotechnical parameters.
• Provide geotechnical services to the mine and mentor junior staff.
• Develop and maintain monitoring systems for ground control and rock fall.
• Support mine planning with geotechnical design and analysis.
• Lead and oversee geotechnical personnel and projects.

Education

Bachelor Degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering or Geology with Post Graduate qualifications in geomechanics

3 years experience in geotechnical engineering

2 years experience in underground hard rock mining

Completed the Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor Certificate

Knowledge of relevant statutory obligations

Well-developed time management skills

Well-developed communication skills

Excellent interpersonal skills

Attention to detail

Strong, logical problem-solving skills
