Job summary

KCB Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer for Perth, Western Australia. You will lead tailings, dam, and geotechnical projects, mentor engineers, and manage client relationships within a global consulting group.

You will contribute across the project lifecycle, from investigations to design, construction support, and closure planning, while promoting technical excellence and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Civil/Geotechnical engineering required.
• Approximately 10+ years' experience in geotechnical, tailings, dam, mine waste, or related engineering disciplines.
• Proven track record delivering tailings, dam, and geotechnical projects within consulting/mining environments.
• Chartered status (CPEng, RPEQ, NER or equivalent) or eligibility is highly regarded.
• Strong client engagement and leadership capabilities.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, and management of tailings storage facilities, mine waste facilities, water storage dams, and associated earthworks infrastructure.
• Provide senior technical leadership and review for geotechnical, tailings, and dam projects.
• Fulfill Engineer of Record roles for appropriate facilities as part of a larger project team.
• Undertake slope stability, seepage and groundwater analyses, tailings modelling, and dam safety/risk assessments.
• Lead investigations, field programs, site inspections, construction monitoring, and QA/QC.
• Prepare and review technical reports, design docs, specifications, proposals, and studies.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and to a high technical standard.
• Develop client relationships and pursue new business opportunities.
