Job summary

Norton Gold Fields Pty Ltd is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to provide geotechnical support for safe mine development and operations at the Paddington/Binduli sites in Western Australia. The role involves leading ground control and advising on pit stability, design optimisation and regulatory compliance.

Open pit and infrastructure focus, with opportunities for professional growth within a major gold producer. WA-compliant licensure and strong technical background required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years in Open Pit Mining with at least 1 year of leadership experience.
• Tertiary qualifications in Geotechnical or Mining Engineering.
• Current WA Class C Driver’s Licence (Essential).
• Experience with geotechnical software and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geotechnical inspections across active mining areas for safe conditions.
• Develop, review and maintain Ground Control Management Plans for open pit, underground and waste dump operations.
• Monitor pit and dump stability and provide mitigation recommendations.
• Advise mining/planning teams to optimise design and extraction.
• Coordinate geotechnical investigations and manage consultants.
• Ensure statutory compliance and deliver ground awareness training.
