Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Energy and Resources team. You will lead geotechnical design, analysis and field investigations for mining facilities, collaborating with teams across Canada and internationally.

The role requires 10+ years in geotechnical engineering, a relevant engineering degree, and P.Eng. eligibility. Hybrid work, strong safety culture, and opportunities for global project exposure are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in geotechnical, geological, civil or mining engineering.
• 10+ years' industry or consulting experience.
• P.Eng. registered or eligible for registration with the Alberta PEs (APEGA).
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License and satisfactory Driver's Abstract.
• Membership in related professional bodies is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive geomechanics studies, numerical modelling and stress analysis for surface and underground mine structures.
• Lead rock mass assessments and stability analysis designs.
• Execute seismic monitoring and hazard assessments.
• Lead ground support and ground response monitoring designs.
• Plan and complete geotechnical site investigations including instrumentation and field testing.
• Prepare project technical proposals and deliverables.
