Job summary

Alliance Geotechnical is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead projects from investigation through CPS, guiding managers on complex work and steering smaller projects as the Project Director when appropriate.

You will oversee site meetings, coordinate subcontractors, and mentor team members while building strong client relationships and ensuring quality deliverables across a variety of project types.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years in geotechnical engineering or engineering geology role.
• Member of a relevant professional body, working toward or holding Chartered status.
• Solid geotechnical experience with two specialisations where you are the go-to person.
• Proven track record managing large or complex projects including subcontractor coordination.
• Experience preparing or contributing to tenders and proposals, with focus on scope and risk.
• Natural mentor who enjoys training and guiding less experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical projects end-to-end, guiding engineers and acting as Project Manager on complex work.
• Coordinate large-scale drill rig and hand tool investigations with subcontractors.
• Contribute to tenders and proposals to win new work while managing risk on high-value bids.
• Train engineers in specialist investigation techniques and review fieldwork and reports.
• Review interpretative reports and CPS inspections across diverse project types.
