Job summary

Golding Contractors is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer (RPEQ-registered) for the Meandu Mine near Kingaroy. You will lead geotechnical support for mining operations, ensuring stability, compliance, and continuous improvement across the site. This senior role oversees design, monitoring and management of slopes, dumps and related structures.

The role offers a DIDO or residential arrangement on a 9-day fortnight roster, with accommodation provided.

Qualifications

• Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Mining Engineering with RPEQ registration.
• Extensive open-cut mining experience, coal preferred.
• Strong ability to interpret monitoring data and provide practical recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical assessments of pit walls, highwalls, and dump stability.
• Oversee geotechnical inspections and hazard identification programs.
• Provide senior-level design input for slopes, dumps, haul roads, and ground control strategies.
• Analyse geotechnical data from monitoring systems and piezometers.
• Develop and maintain TARPs and risk assessments.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with operations and external consultants.
• Prepare technical reports and recommendations for operational teams.
• Support drill and blast design and execution with geotechnical guidance.
