Job summary

Haskoning Australia seeks a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Water & Maritime team across Australia and the Pacific. This technical, project‑leading role combines hands‑on deliverables with client interaction and mentoring of junior staff.

You will oversee geotechnical investigations, design foundation works for port and harbour infrastructure, coordinate site testing, and contribute to business development while building strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and delivering geotechnical investigations to support robust design solutions.
• Proficiency with geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, SlopeW and Wallap for analysis and modelling.
• Strong mentoring, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including report writing and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and deliver studies, engineering designs, modelling, analyses, calculations, drawings and reports for geotechnical projects (civil, coastal, maritime).
• Lead geotechnical and foundation design for port and harbour infrastructure (quay walls, wharves, jetties, marine piling).
• Plan and undertake geotechnical site investigations including boreholes, pits and soil characterisation; prepare reports.
• Supervise, mentor and guide junior engineers and others; manage client communications.
• Support business development: client meetings, capability statements, proposals and marketing materials.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships across Australia with face-to-face engagement.
