Job summary

Northern Star Mining Services Limited seeks a Senior Geologist - Resources to lead geological modelling, estimation and QA/QC at Kalgoorlie operations (Kanowna Belle and South Kalgoorlie). The role supports residential or FIFO rosters, focusing on robust datasets and strategic resource development.

The successful candidate will have 7+ years in mining, strong Datamine/Leapfrog skills, and a proven track record in open pit and underground settings, with mentoring capability and safety commitment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years' mining experience, gold focus.
• Open pit and underground experience with senior responsibilities.
• Strong QA/QC, drill programs, reconciliation and resource estimation skills.
• Proficiency in Datamine (macros) and Leapfrog; solid communication and reporting.

We are seeking an experiencedSenior Geologist - Resourcesto join ourKalgoorlie Operations Teamsbased atKanowna BelleandSouth Kalgoorlie Operations.This is a site basedresidential (5:2/4:3)orFly- in fly-outrole8/6or4/3 (12-hour days)roster - we are open to discuss what best works for you and your work life balance.

Here's what awaits you:

• Develop and maintain robust geological and estimation workflows, ensuring compliance with Northern Star standards and industry best practice.
• Provide technical leadership & coaching in geological modelling, domaining, grade estimation and resource classification.
• Identify and drive Resource growth opportunities through infill and extensional drilling programs.
• Design, review and optimise Resource definition drilling programs to maximise geological confidence and value.
• Ensure geological databases, QA/QC systems and data validation processes maintain the highest level of integrity.
• Conduct geological interpretations and three-dimensional modelling using industry-standard software (Leapfrog, Datamine)
• Monitor and analyse reconciliation between Resource models, grade control and production performance to identify improvement opportunities.
• Contribute to strategic exploration targeting and long-term resource development initiatives.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, consultants and external auditors to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and statutory obligations while promoting Northern Star's safety culture.
• Support due diligence activities, technical reviews and acquisition assessments where required.

To thrive in this role, you'll need:

Experience:

• Minimum of 7 years' mining industry experience, predominantly in gold
• Open pit and underground operational experience, including senior-level responsibilities.
• Demonstrated expertise in QA/QC, drill programs, reconciliation, resource estimation, orebody interpretation, geological and estimation modelling, and applied geostatistics.
• Highly competent with Datamine (including macros), Leapfrog, and similar software, with strong problem-solving, communication, decision-making, report writing and presentation skills.
• Willing to develop and mentor up and coming geologists in the resource and project geologist space

Qualifications

Tertiary qualifications in Geology (preferably Honours), current Unencumbered Western Australian "C" Class Drivers Licence, able to work independently and as part of a team.
