Job summary

Adbri Concrete & Quarries in SA/NT invites an exceptional General Manager to lead our Concrete & Aggregates operations across South Australia and the Northern Territory. This pivotal role drives strategic growth, operational excellence and commercial performance across infrastructure, commercial and residential sectors.

You will oversee Concrete & Despatch, Transport, Quarry Operations, Sales and Technical teams while embedding a safety-first culture and building strong customer and partner

Qualifications

• 15+ years' P&L leadership experience in capital-intensive manufacturing, heavy building materials, mining, energy, or industrial sectors.
• Proven capability in strategic, operational, safety, and commercial leadership across large, dispersed teams.
• Experience leading or supporting business integrations, divestments, mergers, or acquisitions.
• Strong commercial acumen, operational expertise, and the ability to navigate ambiguity with confidence.
• A leadership style grounded in accountability, communication, customer focus, and inclusivity.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications (Engineering, Business, Operations Management) are desirable, with postgraduate studies (MBA or equivalent) viewed favourably.

Responsibilities

• Guide a broad operational footprint including Concrete & Despatch Operations, Transport, Quarry Operations, Sales, and Technical teams.
• Embed a safety-first culture and develop a high-performing, inclusive workforce.
• Drive talent development, succession planning, and relationships with customers, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Shape strategy using market insights, pricing, budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting to drive profitability.
• Lead cost efficiency, process optimisation, and technology adoption across plants, logistics, and quarry operations.
