Job summary

Reapit in Australia is seeking a Senior Engineer - Full Stack to own and evolve our React front-end and Kotlin/Java microservices, with production support for our financial transaction product. The role blends strong frontend and backend work, plus Perl-based components linked to AWS and payment providers.

You will collaborate across product, operations and finance, design scalable systems, and contribute to incident response, root-cause analysis, and improving performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years in software development, with strong experience in either modern React front-end development or Kotlin/Java backend microservice development, and the ability to contribute effectively across the full stack - Essential
• Strong expertise in either React/TypeScript or Kotlin/Java microservices, with practical experience or a willingness to work across the other side of the stack - Essential
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving production incidents in complex, distributed systems - Essential
• Experience supporting or building financial transaction, payments, billing or reconciliation systems, where accuracy, auditability and reliability are critical - Preferred

Responsibilities

• Design scalable, secure and maintainable solutions across React front-end applications, Kotlin/Java microservices, REST APIs and integration points that support financial transaction processing.
• Actively write production-quality React, TypeScript and Kotlin code, participate in code reviews, and uphold engineering standards across front-end and backend services.
• Perform rigorous testing and validation of solutions, including transaction integrity and reconciliation scenarios, to ensure the quality of deliverables.
• Own the end-to-end management of the financial transaction product, including debugging and fixing production issues, liaising with technical contacts from third-parties, and handle the resubmission of transactions.
