Job summary

BJAK is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to build the core systems behind the AI Finance Agent. You will design reliable APIs, scalable workflows and financial product infrastructure that can operate across markets and millions of users.

You will own backend services for the Neobank app, integrate with banks and data providers, and collaborate with product and mobile teams to ship customer journeys quickly. English is required; remote role for Australia-based candidates.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Strong fundamentals in APIs, databases, system design and production debugging.
• Experience building scalable services and integrating third-party systems.
• Security, reliability, data quality and operational edge cases.
• Ability to balance speed, quality and risk.
• Able to work with product, mobile, operations and business teams.
• Experience in fintech, payments, insurance or regulated products is a strong advantage.

The Role

We are looking for backend engineers to build the core systems behind BJAK's AI Finance Agent.

This role is for engineers who can build reliable APIs, workflows and financial product infrastructure that can scale across markets, partners and millions of users.

What You'll Own

• Build backend services, APIs and workflows for the AI Neobank app.
• Support products across insurance, payments, wallet, savings, investing, travel and financial services.
• Design reliable systems for user accounts, transactions, partner integrations, reconciliation, notifications and operations.
• Work with product and mobile teams to ship customer-facing journeys quickly.

Location

This role is remote, but candidates must be based in Australia . We are hiring specifically for this market, so applicants should already be based in Australia .
