Job summary

Arkadia Talent is hiring a Senior/Staff-level engineer to join a brand-new Australian engineering practice. You will own client projects end to end, from design through production, and steer a multi-agent development pipeline across architecture, components, and automated tests.

You will work on site with clients alongside senior consultants, driving the technical direction and building full-stack applications that incorporate AI capabilities.

Qualifications

• Senior or Staff-level engineer with strong full-stack background.
• Deep proficiency in at least one modern stack.
• Hands-on experience building multi-agent systems within full applications.
• Background in product engineering teams with Agile delivery discipline.
• Understanding of production systems—when automated output may be wrong.
• Self-driven and proactive; comfortable client-facing work and travel.

The opportunity

A global advisory firm is building a brand-new engineering practice in Australia, from the ground up.

The practice already runs its own autonomous multi-agent pipeline that writes much of the code. What it needs now are senior engineers who can steer it: the people who decide whether the architecture is right, the tests are the right tests and the components sit in the right place.

This is a founding role. You'll be one of the first engineers in, and you'll help shape how the practice works as it grows to a team of 5 to 20 over the next year.

What you'll do

• Own client projects end to end, from design through to production.
• Steer and validate the work of a multi-agent development pipeline across architecture, components and automated testing.
• Work on site with clients alongside senior consultants, acting as the technical driver of each engagement.
• Build full-stack applications that include multi-agent and AI capabilities.
• Bring proven engineering discipline (Agile cadence, team-based delivery, governance) to a consulting environment.
• Help define the practice's engineering standards as it scales.

What you'll bring

• Senior or Staff-level full-stack experience.
• Deep proficiency in at least one modern stack. The stack matters less than the depth.
• Hands-on experience building multi-agent systems as part of full applications. We're after full-stack engineers who build with AI, not "AI engineers".
• A background in strong product engineering teams, such as frontier AI labs, big tech or large product companies, where Agile delivery and engineering rigour are second nature.
• A clear grasp of how real production systems are built, tested and run, and the judgement to know when automated output is wrong.
• A self-driven approach. You don't wait for tickets.
• Comfort being client-facing, and willingness to travel to client sites Monday to Thursday.
