Job summary

Brighte, rooted in Sydney, is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to design, build, and maintain features across the full stack from React UIs to Node.js microservices. In an AI-first culture, you will embed AI capabilities into products and workflows while collaborating with product, design, and data teams to ship meaningful user experiences.

You will work on evolving microservices architecture, ensuring reliability and scalability, and contribute to engineering best practices.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional Full Stack Engineer experience.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js (REST APIs, async patterns, performance).
• Deep experience with React (hooks, state management, component architecture).
• Hands-on experience building and operating microservices in production.
• Solid understanding of API design, database modelling, distributed systems, CI/CD, testing, security and compliance.
• Experience in the AI space building on LLMs, RAG pipelines, or AI agents.
• Customer-centric thinker with focus on user experience.
• Willingness to learn, share knowledge, and expand horizons.
• Clear communication across non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain full-stack features across React frontend and Node.js backend services.

About the Role

Senior Full Stack Engineers at Brighte design, develop, test, and maintain software across the full stack from polished React interfaces to robust Node.js microservices. We work in an AI-first culture where engineers proactively look for opportunities to embed intelligent tooling and AI capabilities into our products and workflows.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with product, design, and data teams to ship meaningful user-facing experiences, contribute to our microservices architecture, and help raise the engineering bar across the team.

Please note we can only consider candidates who are Sydney-based as this role requires in-office presence.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain full-stack features across our React frontend and Node.js backend services

• Integrate AI capabilities (LLMs, agents, intelligent tooling) into product features and internal workflows
• Collaborate with product, design, and data teams to deliver high-quality user experiences

What You’ll Bring

• ~8 years years of professional experience as a Full Stack Engineer
• Strong proficiency in Node.js (REST APIs, async patterns, performance tuning)
• Deep experience with React (hooks, state management, component architecture)
• Hands-on experience building and operating microservices in production
• Solid understanding of API design, database modelling, and distributed systems along with experience with CI/CD, testing, security and compliance
• Experience in the AI space building on LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.), RAG pipelines, or AI agents and an AI-first mindset, actively looking for ways to apply AI thoughtfully
• Customer-centric thinker who cares deeply about user experience
• Hungry to learn new skills, share knowledge with your team and expand your horizon
• You communicate ideas clearly, especially to those not technologically proficient
