Job summary

Linktree is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Linkapps squad, building integrations that bring creators’ digital worlds into Linktree. You’ll own full-stack features, third-party API integrations, and cloud services behind these experiences.

You’ll work across TypeScript, Node.js, React, PostgreSQL/MySQL, GraphQL and AWS, collaborating with product, design and partnerships. Remote-friendly, Melbourne/Sydney options, and a strong engineering culture are offered.

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping production full-stack features.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and ship full-stack features across the Linkapps surface, from the partner-facing services through to what the creator actually sees.
• Own third-party integrations end-to-end: evaluate the partner’s API or SDK, design the integration, ship it, and keep it healthy in production.
• Ship inside our composable Link Apps system, and improve it where you hit its edges, so that the next integration costs less than the last one did without turning every integration into a platform project.
• Design and maintain the services, APIs and cloud infrastructure behind these experiences, with real attention to auth, rate limits, versioning and graceful degradation.
• Partner with product, design and partnerships to work out what’s technically feasible with a given partner and where the creator value actually sits.
• Instrument what you ship and use the data to decide what to fix, cut or double down on.
• Bring AI into how you build, and where it earns its place, into the integrations themselves.
• Contribute to a strong engineering culture in a small, distributed squad - clear writing, good reviews, and leaving the codebase better than you found it.

The Role

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Linkapps squad, the squad building the integrations that let creators bring the rest of their digital world into their Linktree. Every app that plugs into a Linktree - the music player, the store, the mailing list signup, the ticket link - runs on the systems this team builds.

You will work across the full stack, designing and shipping the services, APIs and product surfaces behind those integrations. That means a lot of time in other people's APIs and SDKs: reading partner contracts closely, building integrations that hold up when someone else's service does not, and knowing when a pattern is worth generalising and when it is better to just ship the thing. It is hands-on IC work in a small distributed squad, close to the partners and close to what creators actually see.

With 70+ million people using Linktree and 48,000 new accounts created every day, the surfaces you build reach an enormous and varied audience - and the integrations you ship are often the reason someone's Linktree becomes the one link that does everything. Who We're Looking For

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping production full-stack features.
• Solid full-stack skills across our core stack (TypeScript, Node.js, React, PostgreSQL or MySQL, GraphQL, AWS), with the ability to move end-to-end on a feature.
• Meaningful experience integrating third-party APIs and SDKs - you've owned an integration in production and dealt with the auth, rate limits, versioning and outages that come with it.
• Comfortable working in a large, established codebase you did not write, with the judgment to know what is safe to change.
• Experience designing services and APIs within cloud-based, service-oriented architectures.
• Fluency with AI-assisted development (e.g. Claude, Cursor, Codex), including how to prompt, iterate, validate and refine what these tools produce.
• Comfortable with ambiguity: you can take a loosely defined partner opportunity and turn it into a shipped, measured feature.
• A high standard for craft. You notice the empty state, the error message and the loading flicker without being asked.
• A clear, async-first communicator who works well with product, design, partnerships and business stakeholders, and teammates across time zones.
• Based in Australia (Melbourne, Sydney or remote) preferred
