Job summary

Domain is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Melbourne to drive high-quality frontend development across residential consumer web projects. You will architect scalable UIs, write and review code, and align solutions with Domain strategy, leveraging React, TypeScript, and Next.js to deliver features for a large user base.

You will mentor junior engineers, champion frontend quality, and collaborate with lead engineers to improve processes, security, and performance while working within an agile

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering or related field.
• Deep expertise in ReactJS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Next.js.
• Strong understanding of modern architectural patterns, including Micro frontends, SPA, and SSR.
• Familiarity with GraphQL, including queries and mutations.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants to boost productivity and code quality.

Responsibilities

• Own the full lifecycle of medium-sized frontend projects, from design to deployment.
• Solve highly technical, loosely defined problems with scalable solutions.
• Write, co-write, and review clear, production-ready code and documentation.
• Balance speed, quality, and technical debt in delivery decisions.
• Align with domain-wide architecture, security, and technology standards.
• Design scalable solutions for future needs and high-traffic contexts.
• Improve performance, maintainability, and security in code reviews.
• Contribute to System Health and tech debt backlog for owned services.
• Collaborate with Lead Engineers and Tech Leads to improve processes.
