Job summary

Monks is seeking a Senior Designer to join a regional creative team. You will apply established brand systems to editorial, marketing and web assets while maintaining a high standard of craft.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in digital design, expert Figma skills, and a strong UX and accessibility focus. You will collaborate with a distributed team, work autonomously, and contribute to AI-enabled production approaches. This role is Sydney-based and part of a global, digital-first consultancy.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in digital, visual, web or product design within an agency, technology company or in-house creative organization.
• Advanced proficiency in Figma and experience with shared libraries, design systems and plugins.
• Strong understanding of UX principles, responsive web design and accessibility.
• Ability to organize complex information through thoughtful hierarchy, layout and visual storytelling.
• Experience creating charts, diagrams, infographics and other visual representations of technical information.
• Exceptional typography, composition, color, spacing and image selection.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to self-QA.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage rapid turnarounds and adapt to shifting priorities.
• Experience working across regions, time zones and distributed teams.
• Clear communication and collaboration skills.
• Interest in AI, emerging technology and production innovation.

Responsibilities

• Design high-quality editorial, marketing and web-based assets using established brand guidelines and component systems.
• Translate technical and product information into clear visual hierarchies, diagrams, and graphics.
• Apply UX and web design principles across responsive layouts.
• Work in Figma with shared libraries, components, and plugins.
• Adapt design systems while maintaining brand consistency across deliverables.
• Collaborate with Design Director, writers, motion designers, and producers to execute briefs.
• Interpret briefs and feedback, identify gaps, and ask clarifying questions.
• Prepare organized, production-ready files for distributed teams.
• Support clear handoffs across regions or shifts.
• Conduct thorough self-QA for content accuracy, spacing, accessibility, and specs.
• Use approved AI tools to support exploration and efficiency.
