• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• CA/CPA/CFA qualification is desirable but not essential.
• Experience with Snowflake, Macros & VBA is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain and enhance NIM models, analysing drivers of margin and funding costs.
• Develop profitability modelling to understand product and business performance.
• Support pricing decisions with financial and risk analyses.
• Own budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting models.
• Develop integrated 3‑way P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow models.
• Create complex financial models from scratch with robust architecture.

• Translate financial data into commercial insights for senior stakeholders.
• Enhance reporting dashboards and BI capabilities; automate processes.
• Prepare monthly reporting, variance analysis and Finance Board reporting.

MARS are proudly partnering an established and growing financial services company to appoint a newly created position as a Senior Financial Modelling Manager. This person will take ownership of some of the organisation's most critical financial models and analytics.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of FP&A, this is a hands‑on modelling role for someone who enjoys getting into the detail, understanding what drives a business and turning complex financial information into insights that influence senior decision‑making.

You'll sit at the intersection of Finance, Treasury, FP&A and data, with the opportunity to shape how the business plans, forecasts, reports and makes commercial decisions.

The Responsibilities:

• Net Interest Margin (NIM) modelling - build, maintain and enhance sophisticated NIM models, analysing the key drivers of margin and funding costs
• Profitability modelling - develop detailed analysis to understand profitability and performance across products and the broader business
• Pricing & risk‑based modelling - support pricing decisions through financial and risk‑based analysis, assessing the impact of pricing, funding and portfolio assumptions
• Budget & forecasting modelling - own and enhance budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting models to support financial planning and decision‑making
• 3‑way financial modelling - develop and maintain integrated P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow models, with experience in this area highly regarded
• Build complex financial models from scratch, applying best‑practice modelling principles and robust model architecture
• Provide detailed product‑level analysis across NIM, profitability and NPAT to support strategic decision‑making
• Work closely with Finance, Treasury, Data and senior stakeholders to translate financial data into meaningful commercial insights
• Enhance reporting, dashboards and business intelligence capabilities, identifying opportunities to automate and improve existing processes
• Prepare and oversee key monthly reporting, variance analysis and Finance Board reporting
• Provide ad‑hoc financial modelling, analysis and decision support to senior management

The Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree and 10+ years' experience in a similar function
• Proven track record of building and running sophisticated financial models from scratch within a financial services organisation (essential)
• Must have experience in building models across NIM, profitability, pricing and budgeting
• Advanced reporting, Excel and financial modelling capability, with experience using AI tools
• Strong experience across budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and financial analysis
• The ability to translate complex data into clear, commercially relevant insights
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• CA/CPA/CFA qualification is desirable but not essential
• Experience with Snowflake, Macros & VBA is beneficial

• Only candidates from a financial services background are being considered for this role
• They operate a hybrid working model of 3 days in the office, 2 days from home
• Must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have long‑term working rights
