Job summary

BMD Group in Australia seeks an experienced FP&A professional to establish and grow the Group's budgeting, forecasting and planning capabilities, leading processes and delivering insights to support strategic decisions.

You will build scalable models, automate reporting with Power BI and Excel, and partner with leaders across the business to improve performance and drive commercial accountability. This role supports shaping a new FP&A function in a growing organisation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ FP&A, commercial finance or related analytics experience.
• Experience budgeting, forecasting, planning cycles and driver-based modelling.
• Strong experience with large/complex datasets and data governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead group-wide budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
• Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting and performance analysis.
• Build automated reporting, dashboards and KPI frameworks using Power BI and Excel.
• Partner with business leaders to analyse performance, challenge assumptions and identify risks and opportunities.
• Deliver clear financial insights and executive reporting to senior leadership.
• Conduct scenario analyses, business cases and investment evaluations.
• Analyse margins, cash flow, working capital and unit performance.
• Ensure reliable financial reporting through data governance and controls.
• Collaborate with IT and data teams to automate reporting and improve data quality.
• Drive continuous improvement by standardising reporting and reducing manual work.

About the role

Reporting to the General Manager - Corporate Finance, this newly created role will establish and grow the Group's FP&A and performance reporting capability. You will lead budgeting, forecasting and planning processes, enhance performance visibility, and deliver insights that support strategic decision‑making across the business.

Partnering with stakeholders across the Group, you will use financial modelling, automation and data‑driven reporting to streamline processes, improve performance outcomes, and drive commercial accountability.

Your responsibilities

• Collaborate with IT and data teams to automate reporting and forecasting processes, improving efficiency and data quality.
• Drive continuous improvement by streamlining processes, standardising reporting and reducing manual work.

You are

You have

• CA or CPA qualification.
• 5+ years’ experience in FP&A, commercial finance, management reporting or similar analytical roles.
• Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, planning cycles and driver‑based financial modelling.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong Power BI capability, with experience working with large or complex datasets.
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate financial data into practical business insights.
• Excellent critical thinking, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Outstanding stakeholder engagement, communication and presentation skills.
• Experience improving processes, automating reporting and building scalable planning or reporting frameworks.
• Experience within multi‑entity, project‑based, construction, infrastructure or high‑growth environments will be highly regarded.
