Job summary

Google is seeking a Generative AI Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to bridge frontier AI products with production-grade deployments for customers. You will code, debug, and ship agentic solutions inside customer environments, solving integration, data readiness, and state-management challenges.

In this role, you’ll work with Google’s Vertex AI and Gemini models, collaborate with DeepMind engineers, and help drive customer success and adoption of the Google Cloud AI stack across enterprise

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development using Python or related coding languages.
• Experience taking production-grade AI solutions from conception to launch and architecting AI systems on cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform).
• Experience building pipelines for structured and unstructured data using both vector databases and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)-like architectures to power enterprise AI solutions.
• Experience managing technical discovery sessions.
• Master’s degree or PhD in AI, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 8 years of experience with software development using Python or similar coding languages.
• Experience in customer-facing role, engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders
• Experience implementing multi-agent systems using frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, CrewAI, ADK) and complex patterns (e.g., ReAct, self-reflection, hierarchical delegation).
• Knowledge of Large Language Model (LLM) native metrics (e.g., tokens/sec, cost-per-request) and techniques for optimizing state management and granular tracing.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a developer for AI applications, transitioning from rapid prototypes to production-grade agentic workflows that drive ROI.
• Architect and code the connective tissue between Google’s AI products and customer's live infrastructure, including APIs, legacy data silos, and security perimeters.
• Build evaluation pipelines and observability frameworks to ensure agentic systems meet accuracy, safety, and latency requirements.
• Identify repeatable field patterns and friction points in Google’s AI stack, turning them into reusable modules or feature requests.
• Be able to co-build with customer engineering teams to instill Google-grade development best practices for long-term project success.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

5 years of experience with software development using Python

Experience taking production-grade AI solutions from conception to launch and architecting AI systems on cloud platforms (GCP)

Experience building pipelines for structured and unstructured data using vector databases and RAG-like architectures

Experience managing technical discovery sessions

As a Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) at Google Cloud, you will be an embedded builder who bridges the gap between frontier Artificial Intelligence (AI) products and production-grade reality within customers.
