Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to join our Professional Services team in Australia. You will work on customer engagements addressing big data challenges using the Databricks platform, delivering data engineering, data science, and cloud integration projects.

You will mentor customers, train teams, and ensure project success with excellent service, report to the Sr. Manager, Professional Services, and travel 20-30% as needed.

Qualifications

• 8+ years experience with Big Data Technologies such as Apache Spark.
• Comfortable coding in Python or Scala.
• Experience with technical project delivery – managing scope and timelines.
• Documentation and white-boarding skills.
• Experience working with clients and managing conflicts.
• Travel to customers 20-30% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Work on a variety of customer technical projects including reference architectures and MVPs.
• Guide strategic customers through end-to-end design and deployment of big data and AI applications.
• Consult on architecture and design; bootstrap or implement strategic customer projects.
• Provide escalated support for customer operational issues.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Customer Support to gather feedback and resolve issues.
