Job summary

The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) seeks a Senior Forest and Fire Operations Officer - Cultural Operations to lead field activities in the Goulburn District, Victoria. The role blends operational land management with Aboriginal cultural heritage protection, including cultural burns and emergency response.

You will supervise contractors and crews, work with Traditional Owners and stakeholders, and help plan fuel management, forest management and cultural heritage

Qualifications

• Experience with Aboriginal cultural heritage values and works planning for forest and fire programs.
• Field-based identification and protection of Aboriginal cultural heritage during operations.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver forest, fire and land management programs across the Goulburn District.
• Conduct cultural heritage assessments and protect heritage values during operations.
• Supervise contractors and crews; oversee cultural burns and emergency response activities.
• Collaborate with Traditional Owners and stakeholders to support program delivery.
