Job summary

Fire Check Consultants (FCC) in Australia seeks a Senior Fire Safety Engineer to lead and manage fire safety engineering on a variety of projects across residential, commercial, retail and industrial sectors.

You will perform fire safety analyses, egress modelling, prepare reports and conduct inspections interstate and overseas (NZ, PNG, Fiji). A Chartered Professional Engineer on the NR (or nearing) and strong client communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) registered on the National Engineering Register (or nearing registration).
• Highly developed communication and client/stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage fire safety engineering work on projects.
• Undertake fire safety engineering analysis, fire and egress modelling and risk assessment.
• Prepare and review Fire Engineering Briefs, Fire Engineering Reports, Audit Reports and Consultant Advice.
• Conduct building fire safety inspections interstate and overseas (NZ, PNG, Fiji, and other neighbouring countries).
• Verbal and written advice to clients.
• Meetings with clients and discuss/negotiate with the fire brigades and approval authorities.
• To ensure design milestones are achieved and client relationships are maintained.
• Liaise with new and existing clients and create opportunities for future business.
• Mentoring fire safety engineering associates.

Senior Fire Safety Engineer

Positions Brief:

You will be working on variety of projects including residential, commercial, retail and industrial. Your duties will include:

• Lead and manage fire safety engineering work on projects.


• Undertake fire safety engineering analysis, fire and egress modelling and risk assessment.


• Prepare and review Fire Engineering Briefs, Fire Engineering Reports, Audit Reports, Evidence of Suitability Reports and Consultant Advice.


• Conduct building fire safety inspections interstate and overseas (NZ, PNG, Fiji, and other neighbouring countries)


• Verbal and written advice to clients.


• Meetings with clients and discuss/negotiate with the fire brigades and approval authorities.


• To ensure design milestones are achieved and client relationships are maintained.


• Liaise with new and existing clients and create opportunities for future business.


• Mentoring fire safety engineering associates.

Selection Criteria:

The key criteria for this role are:

• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) registered on the National Engineering Register (or nearing registration).

Remuneration

• A permanent full-time role with a salary between $100,000 and $150,000 based on experience, past records in a similar role and as per company value-add.
