Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Fire Protection Technical Lead to join our Melbourne-based Fire Protection Engineering team. You will lead projects, provide technical oversight, and support senior engineers across diverse sectors including health, education and data centers.

The role requires extensive experience in fire protection systems, NCC knowledge, and strong client communication. Offices in Melbourne or other major cities are available, with flexible working options and a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

Minimum 10 years’ Fire Protection consulting experience within Building Services.
Degree qualified, chartered (CPEng), NER listed and FPAS or references available.
Hold existing Professional Engineer registration (e.g. RPEQ) or ability to be registered in every state of Australia.
Experience planning and managing successful projects.
Strong Technical knowledge of NCC and Australian Standards.

Responsibilities

Plan and manage projects from initial concept through to installation and commissioning.
Provide technical oversight to ensure successful project delivery.
Represent Stantec externally to clients and manage relationships.
Prepare and present presentations to clients.
Delegate tasks to senior and junior engineers and provide feedback.
Contribute to in-house discussions, design reviews, and project meetings.
Attend meetings and conduct site inspections to support Construction phase.
