Job summary

Aurecon is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to lead the design of active fire protection systems for major projects in Australia. You will collaborate with the Digital team and other disciplines to deliver compliant, safe, and practical fire protection solutions.

You will apply NCC knowledge, perform hydraulic calculations, prepare technical documentation, and support project delivery from conception through to commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or equivalent.
• Approximately 5 years of experience in fire protection engineering consultancy or related industries.
• Strong knowledge of NCC and Australian fire protection standards.
• Experience designing and reviewing fire protection systems.
• Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholder expectations.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver active fire protection systems including sprinklers and alarms.
• Prepare technical drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• Coordinate with project teams to resolve design clashes.
• Support site inspections and construction activities.
• Ensure designs meet quality processes and standards.
• Liaise with clients and contractors to deliver practical solutions.
