ThompsonCook, a rapidly expanding renewables-focused company in Sydney, seeks a Financial Controller to lead a high-performing finance team and support the CFO, CEO and ELT in growing the business domestically and internationally.

The role emphasizes process improvement, robust financial control, and strategic input, reporting to the ELT and partnering with senior leadership to drive long-term group strategy.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA qualified with Big4 background preferred.
• Experience in infrastructure/energy, real estate or funds management sectors.
• Experience in controls implementations and business process improvements.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with and influence stakeholders.
• Self-starter capable of building relationships across the business.
• Passion with high achievement drive and can-do attitude.
• Superior financial accounting and management reporting experience.
• Natural leader of high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, cash flow and risk management.
• Ensure timely preparation of statements, reports, and disclosures per accounting principles and policies.
• Ensure compliance with audit, tax and other regulations.
• Provide leadership to finance team (20+ staff).
• Prepare or review technical accounting papers on significant transactions.
• Drive organizational efficiency through continuous improvements and innovation.
• Perform and review tax related transactions.
