Job summary

TOM People is seeking an experienced Financial Control Manager to join its finance leadership team in Sydney. The role focuses on financial reporting, control, and governance within a complex corporate environment and offers exposure to governance improvements and controls enhancements.

Leading a small finance team, you will drive month-end closings, statutory reporting, and audit coordination while continuing to strengthen internal controls and regulatory compliance across the function.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualified with strong technical accounting capabilities.
• Financial control or financial reporting experience within a large, complex organisation.
• Proven experience managing month-end, year-end and annual reporting processes.
• Previous leadership experience with the ability to develop and mentor a team.
• Exposure to highly regulated industries, with financial services experience viewed favourably.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes.
• Oversee the preparation of statutory financial statements and annual reporting requirements.
• Ensure the integrity of the balance sheet and broader financial control framework.
• Maintain strong governance, compliance and internal control processes.
• Manage external audit relationships and coordinate audit deliverables.
• Support regulatory reporting requirements and finance transformation initiatives.
• Lead, mentor and develop a small team of finance professionals.
• Drive continuous improvement across reporting processes, controls and systems.
