Job summary

NSW Treasury is seeking a Financial Accountant to join the Finance team in Sydney CBD with flexible working options. You will manage monthly and year-end accounting and reporting for a portfolio of reporting entities within Treasury's Residual Entities and Retained Interest group, preparing financial statements and supporting budgeting and reporting processes.

You will ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and NSW Government policies, perform balance sheet reconciliations,

Qualifications

• Monthly reporting and year-end financial statements experience.
• Knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and NSW Government policies.
• Strong analytical ability and practical financial advice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
• Interpersonal skills to build effective relationships.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
• Strong Excel skills; SAP and Treasury Prime knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly and year-end accounting and reporting for a portfolio of entities.
• Prepare financial statements, support budgeting and reporting processes.
• Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and NSW policies.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and prepare position papers.
