Job summary

Australian Payments Plus is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to manage day-to-day finance functions, ensuring accurate recording and timely reporting in line with Australian Accounting Standards. The role supports Treasury, Tax and compliance, with a strong focus on year-end and audits.

You will lead month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statement preparation, collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality outputs on time.

Qualifications

• An undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting.
• CPA or CA qualification.
• Minimum 5 years' directly relevant finance experience within a payments organisation.
• Experience in the preparation and review of financial statements.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and work collaboratively to deliver solutions.
• A proactive mindset during change, encouraging flexibility and helping others see opportunities.
• A collaborative approach, working effectively across teams and with external stakeholders.
• A commitment to delivering high-quality outputs on time.

Responsibilities

• Audit & Financial Statements: Provide supporting documentation and analysis for the year-end external audit.
• Month End: Prepare, review and post month-end journals as required.
• Reconciliations: Prepare and review high-quality balance sheet reconciliations.
• Technical Accounting: Apply accounting standards to operational matters.
• Tax: Support the management of AP+'s tax obligations as required.
