Byron Thomas Recruitment is partnering with a North Shore business to recruit a Senior Financial Accountant for AU and NZ remit. You will own the core finance cycle, manage month end close, and deliver high-quality reporting across Australia and New Zealand.

The role offers hybrid flexibility with a hands-on, ownership-driven environment. A CA/CPA qualification and strong GST/BAS knowledge are required to succeed, with opportunities to grow within a global group.

• Solid experience running month end and preparing management reports
• Strong GST/BAS knowledge and statutory compliance

Responsabilidades

• Own the month end close and the monthly reporting pack for Australia and New Zealand
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and journals to a high standard
• Manage BAS, GST and other statutory compliance, working with external advisers on year end and audit
• Support budgeting, forecasting and reporting to the global group
• Oversee payables, receivables and cash flow, and keep controls tight
• Drive process improvements that make reporting faster and more reliable
• Provide commercial insight to MD on margins, pricing and performance

Our client is the Australian and New Zealand arm of a respected global group with a portfolio of specialist products. The local business is lean, profitable and well run, and the finance function sits close to the Managing Director and the wider team.

The Role

This is a hands-on Senior Financial Accountant role with broad scope and genuine ownership. You will work alongside an experienced Finance Manager and quickly take ownership of the core finance cycle across Australia and New Zealand.

• Own the month end close and the monthly reporting pack for Australia and New Zealand
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and journals to a high standard
• Manage BAS, GST and other statutory compliance, working with external advisers on year end and audit
• Support budgeting, forecasting and reporting to the global group

The Candidate

You will be a hands-on, well-rounded accountant who enjoys variety and ownership in a smaller business. You want to broaden your skills and grow your career. Experience in a commercial, trading or sales-focused business will be well regarded.

• CA or CPA qualified, or close to completion
• Solid experience running month end and preparing management reports
• Strong working knowledge of GST, BAS and statutory compliance
• Confident communicator who can build trust with a Managing Director and a global finance team
• Advanced Excel skills and a practical, improvement-minded approach

Remuneration and Benefits

• $90,000 to $110,000 base + super
• Opportunity for the role to be full-time or part-time, with hybrid flexibility
