Job summary

The Onset Group is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to take a hands-on role across daily cash flow, month-end close and group reporting, with involvement in the FY26 group audit. You’ll help centralise finance activity and improve consolidation processes across multiple entities.

You’ll bring strong month-end, reconciliation and group reporting skills, plus practical Australian tax and audit knowledge.

Qualifications

• Senior financial accounting experience in a multi-entity business.
• Strong month-end, reconciliations and group reporting skills.
• Practical experience with Australian tax and audit requirements.
• Experience supporting group audits and external auditors.
• Comfort with cash flow modelling baseline scenarios and analysing transactions.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with Xero/MYOB.
• Experience improving reporting, reconciliations or consolidation processes.
• Ability to review and guide offshore bookkeepers.
• Clear communication and a steady, organised approach.

Responsibilities

• Assist with tax and audit work, including reviewing historical transactions and preparing supporting information.
• Build a sound understanding of the group’s finance systems, entities and reporting needs.
• Support and review work completed by offshore bookkeepers, helping keep reconciliations and finance tasks on track.

As Senior Financial Accountant, you’ll play a hands-on role across daily cash flow, group reporting and the FY26 group audit, while helping improve how the group consolidates its financial information.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for a practical, hands-on accountant who can manage the details of daily finance and month-end while helping improve group reporting and consolidation.
You’ll be comfortable working across multiple entities, taking ownership of your work and communicating clearly with the finance team and external auditors. You’ll also be ready to get involved in the details as the group prepares for its FY26 audit.

You’ll bring:

• Senior financial accounting experience, ideally in a multi-entity business
• Strong month-end, reconciliation and group reporting skills
• Practical experience with Australian tax and audit requirements
• Experience supporting group audits and working with external auditors
• Confidence reviewing cash flow, modelling baseline scenarios and investigating transactionsli>
• Strong Excel skills and experience working with finance systems such as Xero and/or MYOB
• Experience improving reporting, reconciliations or consolidation processes
• The ability to review and guide work completed by offshore bookkeepers
• Clear communication and a steady, organised approach

Experience in professional or technology services, recruitment, labour hire or another service business with multiple entities would be useful.
