Sharp & Carter is partnering with a well-established and rapidly growing organisation to appoint a Senior Financial Accountant into a newly created role in Ballarat. The position offers significant ownership, international stakeholder exposure and a chance to influence future finance processes.

You will report to the Financial Controller and lead group consolidations, support audits and apply IFRS knowledge.

Qualifications

  • CA or CPA with strong technical reporting experience
  • Financial reporting and consolidations experience
  • Strong IFRS and Australian Accounting Standards knowledge
  • Experience supporting external audits
  • Advanced Excel capabilities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management
  • Proactive, hands-on and collaborative approach
  • Pronto experience advantageous

Responsibilities

  • Lead quarterly and annual group consolidation processes
  • Prepare consolidation schedules and reporting packs
  • Manage month-end and year-end reporting activities
  • Support annual audits and respond to audit queries
  • Apply IFRS and Australian Accounting Standards to complex reporting matters
  • Build relationships with local and international stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and controls
  • Assist with technical accounting research and disclosures

Company Overview

We're partnering with a well-established and rapidly growing organisation to appoint a Senior Financial Accountant into a newly created position. This is an outstanding opportunity for a technically strong accountant to step into a high-visibility role with significant ownership, international stakeholder exposure and the opportunity to help shape future finance processes.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a critical role in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, with a strong focus on consolidations, audit support and technical accounting.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading quarterly and annual group consolidation processes
  • Preparing consolidation schedules and supporting reporting packs
  • Managing month-end and year-end reporting activities
  • Supporting annual audit requirements and responding to audit queries
  • Applying IFRS accounting standards to complex reporting matters
  • Building strong relationships with local and international stakeholders
  • Identifying opportunities to improve reporting processes and controls
  • Assisting with technical accounting research and financial statement disclosures
About You

To be successful, you will bring:

  • CA qualified (or CPA with strong technical reporting experience)
  • Demonstrated experience in financial reporting and consolidations
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and Australian Accounting Standards
  • Experience supporting external audit processes
  • Advanced Excel capability
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive, hands-on and collaborative approach
  • Prior experience with Pronto advantageous however not essential

You will enjoy working in a close-knit team environment and be comfortable partnering with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
