Job summary

Nearmap is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to own the financial accounting for global Technology, Engineering, Product and GCO divisions. You will partner with Global Business Partners to ensure data accuracy and provide insights for performance tracking and budgeting.

You will lead month-end close, reconcile ledgers, manage fixed asset registers, and support IFRS 16 compliance plus intercompany activity while mentoring junior staff. This role offers hybrid work in Sydney.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in an accounting role, including supervising or mentoring team members.
• Strong technical accounting skills, IFRS 16 leases, multi-currency accounting, intercompany transactions, transfer pricing, or acquisition accounting viewed favourably.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, and experience with mid-to-large accounting systems such as Netsuite and Concur.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial and compliance requirements to non-finance stakeholders.
• Excellent time management and strong problem-solving skills, with a track record of delivering to deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close for global divisions, including accruals, and deliver to a strict month-end timetable.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations in FloQast and resolve reconciling items promptly.
• Maintain the Group's consolidated Fixed Asset Register, including capitalisation, depreciation and disposals.
• Review divisional P&L results and provide meaningful variance analysis to support monthly sign-off.
• Review global vendor bills, purchase orders, credit card statements, and expense reports for accuracy and timeliness.
• Review lease agreements and maintain lease schedules in line with IFRS 16 and reconcile intercompany transactions.
• Review and lodge BAS, FBT, PAYG instalments, and payroll tax returns accurately and on time.
• Contribute to the annual financial reporting and audit process, and support budgeting and forecasting with trend analysis.
• Play an active role in finance systems projects (Netsuite, FloQast, Concur) and drive process improvements and automation.
• Mentor and support the development of your direct report and other junior team members.

Job Description

Reporting to our Accounting Manager, you'll own the financial accounting for Nearmap global Technology, Engineering, Product, and GCO divisions.
