Job summary

Fisher & Paykel is seeking an experienced Financial & Management Accountant to join our Australian Finance team in Sydney. You will own core accounting activities, including month-end, balance sheet reconciliations and financial analysis to support decisive business actions.

Working closely with the Finance Manager, CFO and stakeholder teams, you will drive timely reporting, strengthen controls, and partner with Operations, Warehousing, Logistics and Inventory to optimise cost and cash flow.

Qualifications

• 3+ years corporate accounting experience in inventory, distribution, retail or logistics.
• Strong financial accounting capability including balance sheet reconciliations and month-end reporting.
• Experience with company tax requirements, including BAS, FBT and income tax.
• ERP experience with JD Edwards or similar.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret results, explain variances and prepare clear financial reports.

Responsibilities

• Own general ledger reconciliations across the balance sheet and P&L.
• Complete month-end and year-end accounting activities with journals and reconciliations.
• Prepare meaningful financial analysis and commentary on operating performance and overhead spend.
• Partner with Operations, Warehousing, Logistics and Inventory for cost insights and informed decisions.
• Support cashflow management and liaise with Treasury and head office teams.
• Maintain and strengthen financial controls, processes and procedures in line with group policies.
• Review accounting systems and processes, recommending improvements.
