About the Role

The Senior Finance Advisor will work directly with schools and will:

• Support the development and delivery of financial management training material to support schools.
• Assist with the development and communication of school accounting policies and procedures.

The position is a key contact for schools in terms of financial policy and procedures. This requires an understanding of financial management practices affecting schools and involves:

• Undertaking analysis of financial management practices and financial performance of schools, focussing on sustainability.
• Providing financial management advice to school-based staff.
• Monitoring the level of financial management competencies within schools.
• Providing appropriate training and development programs to enhance financial management skills.
• Working effectively in a team environment.

About You

To be successful in this position, you will have:

• Sound knowledge of contemporary financial management issues and strategies impacting schools.
• Ability to interrogate and analyse school financial management systems - Agresso and OneSchool Finance.
• Ability to deliver training programs relating to school financial management, including in an online format.
• High-level communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to influence customer behaviour and implement change.
• Demonstrated leadership and management skills appropriate to achieving outcomes within negotiated timeframes.
