Job summary

Mumbrella, a leading Australian media business, is seeking a Senior Event Manager to oversee a portfolio of conferences, awards and bespoke events in Sydney. You will partner with editorial, commercial and marketing teams to plan, budget and deliver high-profile events across the contract period.

The role requires 6+ years in large-scale events, strong stakeholder management and a calm, organized leadership style.

Qualifications

• 6+ years' experience delivering large-scale events
• Proven ability to manage complex events with multiple stakeholders
• Strong budgeting, negotiation and supplier management skills
• Calm under pressure with excellent problem-solving abilities
• Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
• Confident communicator who builds strong relationships internally and externally
• Proficient in using EventsAir and digital event tools such as Asana
• Flexibility to work after-hours during events when required
• Passionate about media, marketing, advertising or creative industries

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end planning and delivery of major conferences, awards and live events
• Own event timelines, budgets and forecasting, ensuring commercial and operational success
• Manage venue sourcing, supplier negotiations and contract management
• Oversee on-site delivery, run-sheets and event operations
• Collaborate closely with internal teams including editorial, sales, marketing and production
• Manage speakers, partners, sponsors and senior industry stakeholders
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, experiences and efficiencies
• Mentor and support junior team members as required
