JV Recruitment is partnering with a rapidly growing Sydney-based remedial contractor to hire a Senior Estimator. You will own end-to-end hard tenders for high-value remedial projects, from scoping to contract award, and mentor junior estimators within a high-performance team.

This role offers a lucrative base salary in the $140k–$180k range plus super, with a company car or vehicle allowance and long-term career progression as the business scales from Tier-3 to Tier-2.

Qualifications

• Strong background in remedial estimating.
• Pricing and winning hard tenders on projects valued between $3M and $15M.
• Relationships within the Sydney remedial, strata, or consulting space are highly regarded.
• Knowledge of measurement frameworks, first-principles estimating, site scoping, and digital estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end hard tendering, from site scoping to contract award.
• Build precise BOQs and cost plans for concrete spall, waterproofing, facade, and structural repair scopes.
• Mentor junior estimators and develop internal division capability.
• Engage with engineers, strata managers, project managers and superintendents.

Senior Estimator – Remedial Construction

About the Business

We are partnering with one of Sydney’s fastest-growing Remedial Contractors as they scale from an established Tier-3 specialist into full Tier-2 operations. Backed by a strong multi-year pipeline of secured projects and high client retention, this business has built an exceptional reputation for delivering complex structural rectifications, building refurbishments, and high-end remedial builds across Sydney.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Estimating Manager, you will join a dedicated, high‑performing estimating division. In this role, you will take ownership of end‑to‑end hard tenders for high‑value remedial projects ranging from $3M to $15M.

Beyond winning projects, you will play an influential leadership role within the pre‑construction team, mentoring junior and intermediate estimators, refining measurement processes, and actively building relationships with key clients, superintendents, and consultants across the remedial sector.

Key Responsibilities

• End‑To‑End Hard Tendering: Lead lump‑sum, D&C, and competitive tenders from initial site scoping through to contract award.
• Cost Planning & First‑Principles Estimating: Build precise, airtight BOQs and cost plans for complex concrete spall, waterproofing, facade, and structural repair scopes.
• Team Development & Mentorship: Guide, train, and develop junior estimators under the direction of the Estimating Manager to build internal division capability.
• Client & Consultant Engagement: Leverage existing industry networks to liaise with Engineers, Strata Managers, Project Managers, and Superintendents.
• Subcontractor Management: Package trade scopes, evaluate quotes, and negotiate competitive pricing with specialized remedial subcontractors.

What We Are Looking For

• Remedial Estimating Expertise: Strong background in remedial estimating—either currently operating as a Senior Estimator or an experienced Estimator ready to step up.
• Proven Track Record: Demonstrable success in pricing and winning hard tenders on projects valued between $3M and $15M.
• Client Portfolio / Network: Strong relationships within the Sydney remedial, strata, or consulting space are highly regarded.
• Technical Mastery: Deep understanding of measurement frameworks, first‑principles estimating, site scoping, and digital estimating software (e.g., Cubit, CostX, Buildsoft).
• Leadership Attributes: Passionate about mentoring junior staff and driving high‑quality tender outputs.
