Job summary

KAEFER Integrated Services Pty Ltd is seeking a Senior Estimator (SMP) to join our Perth CBD team. This permanent role focuses on national SMP projects in mining, engineering, and heavy construction, with a clear pathway in a rapidly growing global business.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years’ estimating experience, a mechanical trade or engineering background, and strong cost build-up and MS Office skills. Perth-based opportunity with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Min. 5 years of estimating experience on large SMP projects in mining, engineering and heavy construction.
• Mechanical trade background is essential, or a mechanical engineer with site experience.
• Experience with first-principles build-up of resource hours; strong Excel and MS Projects abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with strong analytical and detail orientation.

Responsibilities

• Accurately estimate all project costs (labor, materials, equipment, mobilization/demobilization).
• Obtain and analyse vendor quotes for materials and services.
• Perform material take-offs and compile detailed cost documentation.
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Analyse project schedules to identify opportunities for optimization.
• Prepare and review tender clarifications and information requests.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately estimate all project costs (Labor, materials, equipment, mobilization/demobilization).

About You

• Min. 5yrs exp in an estimating role working on large-scale SMP projects execution in Mining, Engineering, heavy Construction industries, supported by a verifiable record of successful outcomes.
• A background in a Mechanical Trade (essential) or a Mechanical Engineer with site experience
• Estimating experience with first principal build-up of resource hours
• Strong MS Office particularly, Excel and MS Projects
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage confidently
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential to accurately assess costs and project requirements
