Job summary

SLR Consulting Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a highly experienced Principal Environmental Consultant to join the Environmental Assessment, Closure and Management team in Brisbane. The role emphasizes linear infrastructure projects in Roads, Highways and Rail, combining project delivery with mentoring and client relationship building.

With 15+ years in consulting, government, or industry, you will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage complex projects, and collaborate across the APAC EAC&M group.

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field and 15+ years in impact assessment/management for State and Federal approvals.
• Strong experience in linear infrastructure approvals (TMR, QR) and knowledge of environmental legislation and guidelines.
• Leadership in infrastructure projects, client management, and multidisciplinary team leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and delivery on impact assessment, approvals, and environmental management.
• Engage stakeholders and collaborate with clients and internal teams across disciplines.
• Mentor junior staff, contribute to business planning, and perform fieldwork as required.
