Job summary

Arup in Victoria is seeking a Senior Environmental Consultant to lead complex environmental assessment and approvals for major infrastructure projects across transport, energy, technology and water sectors. This is a hands-on role for a proactive professional who builds client relationships and delivers practical environmental solutions.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams to plan and deliver projects, translate technical information for non-technical audiences, and mentor junior staff

Qualifications

• 5-12 years relevant industry experience in consulting, private industry or government.
• Experience in environmental impact assessment, environmental planning and/or environmental approval processes within Victoria.
• Experience in major transport, water infrastructure and/or renewable energy projects within a consulting or government business environment.
• Confident written communication skills, ability to translate complex information into clear reports and actionable advice.
• Ability to bring structure and momentum to complex, fast-moving projects and coordinate multiple workstreams.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental assessment and approvals work on major infrastructure projects in Victoria, with opportunities to contribute to projects across Australia.
• Build trusted relationships with clients and regulators by distilling complex information into actionable advice.
• Drive complex projects with structure and momentum to meet tight timelines and priorities.
• Help junior consultants grow through practical technical guidance and mentorship.
• Contribute to bids and future business development for the team.
